چکیده

Diabetes mellitus is characterised by high blood glucose level termed hyperglycaemia (HG). It has been reported to affect skeletal muscle inducing atrophy and protein degradation leading impairment of function. This study aimed investigate the effects HG on expression myogenic regulatory factor genes in progenitor cells muscle. The number C2C12 myoblasts cultured condition was significantly decreased compared control dose time dependent manner. In addition, Ki-67 positive nuclei after treatment under condition. Real PCR showed significant suppression MyoD myogenin, while Myf5 gene enhanced, control. Furthermore, histological examinations fibres tibialis anterior (TA) from diabetic rats. frequency distribution fibre cross-sectional area (MCA) rats shifted leftward that normal contrast, myogenin TA were increased provides novel knowledge changing hyperglycaemic condition, both vitro vivo, atrophy.

Investigation of the RBP4 and GLUT4 gene expression in skeletal muscle of STZ induced diabetic rats following aerobic exercise training

Background: Type2 diabetes is a metabolic disease that is rapidly increasing in the world. GLUT4 and RBP4 are factors that play a role in glucose uptake. This study aimed to investigate the effect of moderate-intensity continuous training on RBP4 and GLUT4 gene expression of soleus muscle in STZ induced diabetic rats. Methods: This experimental study was conducted between May and September 201...

Effect of resveratrol on SNARE proteins expression and insulin resistance in skeletal muscle of diabetic rats

Objective(s): Soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE) complex proteins are involved in membrane trafficking. The expression of isoforms of SNAP-23, syntaxin-4, and VAMP-2 is significantly done in skeletal muscles; they control GLUT4 trafficking. It is believed that type 2 diabetes could be caused by the modifications in the express...

IGF-1 Attenuates Hypoxia-Induced Atrophy but Inhibits Myoglobin Expression in C2C12 Skeletal Muscle Myotubes

Chronic hypoxia is associated with muscle wasting and decreased oxidative capacity. By contrast, training under hypoxia may enhance hypertrophy and increase oxidative capacity as well as oxygen transport to the mitochondria, by increasing myoglobin (Mb) expression. The latter may be a feasible strategy to prevent atrophy under hypoxia and enhance an eventual hypertrophic response to anabolic st...

Myogenic regulatory factors during regeneration of skeletal muscle in young, adult, and old rats.

Myogenic factor mRNA expression was examined during muscle regeneration after bupivacaine injection in Fischer 344/Brown Norway F1 rats aged 3, 18, and 31 mo of age (young, adult, and old, respectively). Mass of the tibialis anterior muscle in the young rats had recovered to control values by 21 days postbupivacaine injection but in adult and old rats remained 40% less than that of contralatera...

Setdb1 Is Required for Myogenic Differentiation of C2C12 Myoblast Cells via Maintenance of MyoD Expression

Setdb1, an H3-K9 specific histone methyltransferase, is associated with transcriptional silencing of euchromatic genes through chromatin modification. Functions of Setdb1 during development have been extensively studied in embryonic and mesenchymal stem cells as well as neurogenic progenitor cells. But the role of Sedtdb1 in myogenic differentiation remains unknown. In this study, we report tha...
